Boy it’s been a hell of a week for fighting game enthusiasts, or at least me. With C80 coming up we’ve got a couple noteworthy doujin fighters coming out and some more fighters out in the arcades and last but not least, MBAACC ver.107 is getting a PC release bundled with the 3rd volume of Carnival Phantasm. Let’s quickly break down and recap everything that’s happened so far and what’s going to happen.

Yahoo! Yesterday I got to double dip and received two packages from different shippers. One was for my Saber Summer ver. from AmiAmi and the other is the old school GSC Hatsune Miku from HobbySearch. I woke up to take pictures of an elegent King Arthur at 12:00 noon and by 2:00pm I received the other package and had to take another hour set of photos for her. Both are 1/8 scale, Saber is by Alter and Miku is of course by GoodSmile. Summer Saber was released with a Rin Summer ver. as well but I felt that only Saber was necessary, however I was so impressed by this one that I may consider getting Rin on a later occasion. For 4410 yen Summer Saber definitely exceeded my expectations.

Going to introduce a new series of posts I dub the Hyper Galactica Super Dream Match Chronicles. The long name is to reassure you that it is about fighting games. In it I will analyze a dream crossover death match between two fighters hailing from different fighting game series. In short, MUGEN but in a blog post form and without the hamburger hadoukens or enhanced robotic professional golf players. The idea is to pit up two fighters with similar characteristics so today I’m matching up Kishima Kouma from the Tsukihime/Melty Blood series and Akuma of Street Fighter. These two are some of my favorite characters from their respective series and share more qualities with each other than you’d expect so I feel a fight between the two would be totally kickass. Both are buff dudes who are mixed-humans, Kouma being human/demon hybrid of the Kishima clan and Akuma being a human who’s transcended humanity to tame his Satsui no Hadou (Surge of Murderous Intent). Kouma is the perfect breed of human and demon blood and is a true Crimson Red Vermillion, basically a red red red super demon who can tap into a maximized demonic state through his thick demon blood. Akuma has more demonic forms as well that appear when he further embraces the Satsui no Hadou and strays further and further away from humanity to become Shin and Oni Akuma.

There was supposed to be a whale in this picture but I snapped it a bit late… sorry this is the best I could do. Since my 12 day stay in Alaska I’ve been a bit lazy in updating anything on the blog but I’ll at least upload a couple of the photos I took while up in the cold north. Nothing weeaboo in this post, sorry!
